About the wine

Tintilia del Molise is a distinctive DOC representing the viticultural heritage of the Molise region. Centered on the indigenous Tintilia grape, this appellation produces wines characterized by their deep ruby color, intense vinous aromas, and a signature spicy profile that becomes more pronounced in the Riserva typology. The wines are known for their structural harmony, good alcohol levels, and notable freshness, reflecting the diverse hilly terrain of the Campobasso and Isernia provinces. The production is strictly regulated, requiring at least 95% Tintilia, with vineyards situated at altitudes above 200 meters to ensure optimal ripening. The Riserva version undergoes a mandatory two-year aging process, resulting in a more complex, garnet-hued wine with refined spicy notes. This DOC serves as a testament to the historical and cultural significance of the Tintilia vine, which has been cultivated in the region since at least the 18th century, and highlights the successful integration of traditional viticultural practices with modern scientific oversight.
