Trevenezie
About the wine
The Trevenezie IGT (also known as Tri Benečije in Slovenian) is a vast, interregional designation covering the provinces of Trento, the entire Veneto region, and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. This area, historically linked to the Republic of Venice and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, benefits from a unique climate moderated by the Alps to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the south. The IGT produces a wide array of wines, including white, red, and rosato, often in still or frizzante styles. It is one of Italy's most significant IGTs by volume, known for both international varieties like Merlot, Cabernet, and Chardonnay, and indigenous grapes such as Garganega, Raboso, and various Friulian varieties. The production is characterized by a long-standing tradition of viticultural research and enological expertise, centered around historic institutions like San Michele all'Adige and Conegliano.

Production & aging
The production area encompasses the entire administrative territories of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Veneto region (Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Treviso, Venezia, Verona, Vicenza), and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region (Pordenone, Udine, Gorizia, Trieste). This diverse landscape ranges from Alpine foothills and limestone-rich hills to alluvial plains, all influenced by a network of rivers and the mitigating effects of the Adriatic Sea.
