About the wine

The Lamezia DOC, established in 1978, represents a diverse viticultural area in the province of Catanzaro, Calabria. Situated on the alluvial plains of Sant'Eufemia and the slopes of the Reventino massif, the region benefits from a Mediterranean climate with moderate water deficits. The denomination is notable for its wide range of typologies, including whites based on Greco, reds centered on Gaglioppo and Magliocco, as well as passito and classic method sparkling wines. The wines are characterized by their strong regional identity, with the reds offering structured, vinous profiles and the whites presenting fresh, sapid, and fruity qualities. Modern viticultural practices have elevated the quality of these traditional grapes, positioning Lamezia as a significant expression of Calabrian terroir that balances historical heritage with contemporary production standards.
