About the wine

The Campidano di Terralba DOC, also known as Terralba, is a Sardinian appellation centered on the Bovale grape, specifically the Bovaleddu (Bovale Sardo) and Bovale Grande (Bovale di Spagna) varieties. These grapes must constitute at least 85% of the blend, with the remainder sourced from other black grapes permitted in the region. The wines are characterized by a ruby red color, an intense vinous bouquet, and a dry, sapid, and full-bodied palate. The appellation includes standard, Superiore, and Riserva typologies, with the latter requiring a minimum of two years of aging. The production area, spanning the provinces of Oristano and Medio Campidano, benefits from a Mediterranean climate and diverse geological soils, ranging from volcanic-sedimentary complexes to alluvial plains, which allow for the slow and complete ripening of the Bovale grapes. It is a traditional, terroir-driven red wine that reflects the historical viticultural heritage of the Campidano and Marmilla regions.
