About the wine

The Isola dei Nuraghi IGT covers the entire administrative territory of the Sardinia region. This broad designation allows for a vast array of wine styles, including white, red, and rosato, as well as frizzante, spumante, and sweet passito or late-harvest wines. The region is characterized by a Mediterranean climate with mild winters, hot summers, and significant influence from the Mistral wind. The island's diverse geology—ranging from ancient granites in Gallura to limestone and basaltic formations—provides a unique environment for viticulture. Archaeological evidence confirms a long-standing winemaking tradition in Sardinia, dating back to the Nuragic civilization. The IGT is highly permissive regarding grape varieties, allowing for the use of any grape authorized for cultivation in the Sardinia region, enabling producers to experiment with both indigenous and international cultivars while maintaining the distinct character of the island's terroir.
