Parteolla
About the wine
The Parteolla IGT covers a historic viticultural region in southeastern Sardinia, specifically within the province of Cagliari. The area is characterized by gentle hills and undulating plains with a classic Mediterranean climate, featuring mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers. Viticulture here dates back to the Nuragic period, with a long-standing tradition of using diverse grape varieties. The IGT allows for the production of white, red, and rosato wines, including frizzante and novello styles. Producers have significant flexibility in varietal selection, as the disciplinare permits the use of any grape variety authorized for cultivation in the Sardinia region. The wines are known for their distinct territorial character, influenced by the local soil composition—ranging from sedimentary marine deposits to granitic outcrops—and the surrounding Mediterranean scrub, which contributes unique aromatic profiles to the final products.
