Planargia
About the wine
The Planargia IGT covers a specific geographic area in the Oristano province of west-central Sardinia, encompassing the municipalities of Bosa, Flussio, Magomadas, Modolo, Sagama, Suni, Tinnura, and Tresnuraghes. The region is characterized by hilly terrain with Miocene-era limestone and tuff soils, benefiting from a warm, arid Mediterranean climate moderated by sea breezes. These environmental conditions, combined with traditional viticultural practices, allow for the production of a wide range of wines, including white, red, and rosato, as well as frizzante and novello styles. The disciplinare is highly permissive regarding grape varieties, allowing any grape authorized for cultivation in the Sardinia region. The wines are noted for their aromatic expression and consistent quality, reflecting the unique orographic and climatic conditions of the Planargia territory. The production is strictly regulated by the local Chambers of Commerce to ensure compliance with regional standards.
