About the wine

The Sibiola IGT is a regional designation located in the Parteolla area of southern Sardinia, specifically within the municipalities of Serdiana and Soleminis. The region is characterized by a classic Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers, and soils derived from Miocene marine and continental sediments, including marls, sandstones, and calcarenites. The IGT allows for a wide range of wine styles, including white, red, and rosato, which can be produced as still, frizzante, or novello (for reds). The production is deeply rooted in local history, dating back to the Nuragic period and further developed by Benedictine monks in the Middle Ages. The wines are known for their distinct organoleptic profiles influenced by the calcareous-clay soils and the surrounding Mediterranean scrub. The disciplinare permits the use of any grape variety authorized for cultivation in the Sardinia region, provided they are registered in the national vine variety catalog.
