About the wine

The Colline Savonesi IGT covers the entire province of Savona in the Liguria region. This coastal area is characterized by steep, narrow valleys and terraced hillsides protected by the Alps, with vineyards often situated between 400 and 600 meters above sea level. The IGT allows for a wide range of wine styles, including white, red, and rosato, as well as frizzante and passito versions. The wines are noted for their freshness, sapidity, and Mediterranean character, reflecting the sandy, well-draining soils and the maritime influence of the region. Indigenous varietals like Lumassina (also known as Buzzetto) and Alicante (Granaccia) are particularly significant to the local tradition. The production is generally geared toward immediate consumption, capturing the essence of the local terroir without extensive aging. The disciplinare permits the use of any grape variety authorized for cultivation in the Liguria region, provided they meet the specified quality standards.
