About the wine

The 'Terrazze dell'Imperiese' IGT covers the entire province of Imperia in Western Liguria. This region is defined by its dramatic, steep coastal landscape, characterized by traditional terraced vineyards—often referred to as 'fasce'—that climb from the Mediterranean coast into the hills. The climate is mild and influenced by sea breezes, with significant diurnal temperature shifts that favor the development of delicate aromatics. The IGT allows for a wide range of wine styles, including white, red, rosato, frizzante, and passito. White wines are typically based on Pigato and Vermentino, while red wines rely on Rossese and Ormeasco. The production is deeply rooted in local history, with viticulture dating back to the 13th century. The wines are noted for their freshness, balanced acidity, and refined profiles, reflecting the unique interaction between the rugged topography and the maritime-influenced climate of the Ligurian Ponente.
