The Anagni IGT covers the territory of the municipality of Anagni in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. The production area is characterized by hilly terrain in the upper Sacco River valley, with soils primarily composed of red earth derived from limestone formations and volcanic tuffs. The climate is temperate-transitional, benefiting from good ventilation and exposure. The IGT allows for the production of white and red wines. White wines are primarily based on Passerina and Malvasia puntinata, while red wines are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with a mandatory inclusion of the indigenous Cesanese di Affile. The history of viticulture in this area dates back to Roman times, with significant medieval documentation. The wines are known for their balanced chemical-physical characteristics and are produced using traditional techniques that have been refined over centuries to express the local terroir.
