Cori
About the wine
The Cori DOC, located in the province of Latina, represents a historic viticultural area in the Lazio region with roots dating back to the Volsci era. The denomination covers both white and red wines, characterized by a strong link to local indigenous varieties. The white wines, based on Bellone and Malvasia del Lazio, are noted for their freshness, structure, and floral-fruity profiles. The red wines, centered on the Nero Buono grape, are recognized for their good polyphenolic structure, persistence, and ability to age, particularly in the 'Riserva' typology. The production zone benefits from a Mediterranean climate and volcanic-sedimentary soils, which, combined with traditional cultivation practices, yield wines of distinct regional identity. The disciplinare emphasizes the preservation of these traditional ampelographic bases and specific vinification techniques to ensure the quality and consistency of the Cori appellation.
