About the wine

Frascati Superiore DOCG represents the pinnacle of the historic white wine tradition in the Castelli Romani, southeast of Rome. Rooted in the volcanic soils of the Alban Hills, this denomination focuses on a blend dominated by Malvasia Bianca di Candia and Malvasia del Lazio (Puntinata). The wine is characterized by its straw-yellow color, delicate floral aromatics, and a palate that balances sapidity with a soft, velvety texture. Unlike the standard Frascati DOC, the 'Superiore' designation requires higher minimum alcohol levels and stricter yield controls, ensuring a more structured and refined expression. The 'Riserva' typology further elevates the profile through a mandatory aging period of at least 12 months, including bottle refinement, which adds complexity and depth. This wine is a testament to a viticultural heritage dating back to Roman times, thriving in a Mediterranean climate that allows for slow, complete ripening of the grapes.
