About the wine

The Collina del Milanese IGT, established in 1995, covers a specific hilly area south of Milan, spanning parts of the provinces of Milan, Lodi, and Pavia. This unique geological formation, often considered an extension of the Apennines, provides a distinct microclimate within the Po Valley. The disciplinare is highly permissive regarding ampelography, allowing for a wide range of grape varieties suitable for cultivation in the Lombardy region. Producers may craft white, red, and rosato wines, including frizzante, passito, and novello styles. The production is characterized by a long historical tradition of viticulture dating back to Roman times and further developed by the monastery of San Colombano. The wines are known for their balanced chemical-physical profiles, with specific minimum alcohol levels and analytical requirements defined for each color and style to ensure regional typicity.
