Galluccio
About the wine
The Galluccio DOC, established in 1997, represents a distinct viticultural area in the province of Caserta, Campania. The appellation covers white, red, and rosato wines, deeply rooted in the volcanic soils of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano. The white wines are based on Falanghina (min. 70%), while the red and rosato versions rely on Aglianico (min. 70%). These wines are characterized by their freshness, harmony, and a clear expression of their volcanic terroir. The production zone, situated between the Garigliano river and the slopes of Monte Camino, benefits from a mild climate and favorable ventilation, which are essential for the quality of the grapes. The red wines may be produced as 'Riserva' after a minimum of two years of aging, including one year in wood. The wines are generally dry, balanced, and reflect the traditional, ancient winemaking heritage of this specific northern Campanian territory.
