Oltrepò Pavese Pinot grigio
About the wine
The Oltrepò Pavese Pinot Grigio DOC represents a significant expression of this versatile variety in the Lombardy region. The appellation covers both still and frizzante (semi-sparkling) styles, both characterized by a straw-yellow hue that can occasionally lean toward a light copper tone. These wines are defined by their fresh, sapid, and pleasant profile, offering a distinctively fruity bouquet. The production is rooted in the hilly landscapes of the Oltrepò Pavese, where the interplay of varied soil compositions—ranging from calcareous-clay to marl—and favorable microclimates allows the Pinot Grigio to retain its essential acidity and aromatic clarity. The regulations emphasize traditional viticultural practices, ensuring the wine remains a faithful reflection of its terroir, avoiding excessive manipulation to preserve its characteristic freshness and drinkability.
