Bramaterra
About the wine
Bramaterra is a distinctive red wine from the Alto Piemonte region, characterized by its unique terroir of acidic, porphyritic soils and a microclimate influenced by the proximity of Monte Rosa. The wine is primarily based on Nebbiolo (locally known as Spanna), which provides structure and longevity, blended with Croatina, Vespolina, and Uva Rara to add complexity and aromatic depth. Upon release, Bramaterra typically displays a garnet red color with orange reflections, offering an intense, ethereal bouquet that evolves with age. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and velvety, often featuring a characteristic, pleasant bitter finish. The production is strictly limited to specific hilly areas in the provinces of Biella and Vercelli, where the combination of sandy, clay, and rocky soils creates a unique expression of the Nebbiolo grape. The wine requires significant aging, ensuring a refined and harmonious profile suitable for long-term cellaring.
