About the wine

Dolcetto di Ovada is a traditional red wine from the Piedmont region, specifically centered around the town of Ovada in the province of Alessandria. Produced exclusively from the Dolcetto grape, this DOC represents a classic expression of the Monferrato hills. The wine is characterized by its ruby red color, often displaying violet reflections, and a distinctively vinous bouquet. On the palate, it is dry and soft, frequently exhibiting the signature almond notes and fruit-forward profile typical of the variety. While the Dolcetto grape is known for its approachability and readiness for consumption, the specific terroir of the Ovadese—defined by its clay, tuff, and calcareous soils—imparts a structure that allows for moderate aging. The production regulations emphasize traditional hillside viticulture, ensuring the wine remains a faithful reflection of its geographic origin and local winemaking heritage.
