Strevi
About the wine
Strevi DOC is a specialized Italian appellation dedicated exclusively to the production of Moscato Bianco passito. Located in the province of Alessandria, this niche DOC focuses on high-quality, sun-dried dessert wines. The production process requires grapes to undergo a gradual drying phase—either in the open air or in ventilated rooms—to concentrate sugars and aromatics. The resulting wine is a golden-hued, aromatic 'meditation wine' characterized by its harmony, sweetness, and notes of ripe fruit. With a mandatory aging period of at least two years, Strevi passito is noted for its remarkable longevity and ability to express the specific clay-marl and calcareous terroir of the Strevi hills. The appellation also allows for the 'vigna' designation for wines sourced from specific, high-quality vineyard sites, which are subject to stricter yield controls.
