About the wine

Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario DOC represents a unique viticultural expression of southern Tuscany's Maremma coast and its islands. Centered on the Ansonica grape—which must constitute at least 85% of the blend—this white wine is deeply tied to the rugged, sun-drenched landscapes of the Monte Argentario promontory and the Isola del Giglio. The region's Mediterranean climate, characterized by sea breezes and well-drained, mineral-rich soils (granitic, calcareous, and sandy), fosters a slow, balanced ripening process. The resulting wine is typically straw-yellow in color, offering a delicate, fruity bouquet. On the palate, it is known for being dry, soft, and harmonious, with a characteristic warmth and moderate acidity. Production & aging

The production area is located in the southern part of the Grosseto province, Tuscany. It encompasses the entirety of the Monte Argentario and Isola del Giglio municipalities, along with specific hilly and coastal territories within the communes of Manciano, Orbetello, and Capalbio. The zone is defined by its proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea, featuring varied geological formations including granitic, calcareous, and alluvial soils.
