About the wine

Ansonica Costa dell'Argentario DOC represents a unique viticultural expression of southern Tuscany's Maremma coast and its islands. Centered on the Ansonica grape—which must constitute at least 85% of the blend—this white wine is deeply tied to the rugged, sun-drenched landscapes of the Monte Argentario promontory and the Isola del Giglio. The region's Mediterranean climate, characterized by sea breezes and well-drained, mineral-rich soils (granitic, calcareous, and sandy), fosters a slow, balanced ripening process. The resulting wine is typically straw-yellow in color, offering a delicate, fruity bouquet. On the palate, it is known for being dry, soft, and harmonious, with a characteristic warmth and moderate acidity. This DOC preserves a winemaking tradition dating back to Etruscan times, refined by modern techniques to ensure consistency and quality, resulting in a wine that reflects the distinct maritime character of its coastal and insular terroir.
