About the wine

The Colline Lucchesi DOC, established in 1968, encompasses a historic viticultural area in northern Tuscany, nestled between the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The region is defined by a unique microclimate influenced by both mountain rainfall and coastal breezes, resulting in wines of notable elegance and balance. The production includes versatile red blends based on Sangiovese, often complemented by Merlot, Syrah, and other traditional varieties, as well as crisp whites led by Trebbiano Toscano, Vermentino, and Sauvignon. The appellation also features varietal-specific wines and the traditional Vin Santo, including the rare Occhio di Pernice. The terroir, characterized by calcareous marl and sandstone soils, combined with a long-standing tradition of 'villa-farm' estates, produces wines that are typically harmonious, approachable, and reflective of their specific Lucchese heritage.
