About the wine

The San Torpè DOC, established in 1980, encompasses a diverse range of wines produced in the rolling hills of the Pisa and Livorno provinces in Tuscany. This appellation is notable for its versatility, offering white, rosato, and varietal-specific wines (Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Trebbiano, and Vermentino), alongside a traditional Vin Santo. The white wines are typically based on Trebbiano Toscano, while the rosato relies on Sangiovese. The region's climate, characterized by mild temperatures and moderate rainfall, combined with varied soils of limestone and clay, provides an ideal environment for quality viticulture. The wines are generally marked by their harmony, freshness, and delicate aromatic profiles, reflecting the traditional winemaking heritage of the Pisan hills. The Vin Santo, in particular, stands out as a long-aged, complex dessert wine, often showcasing the region's historical commitment to traditional Tuscan production methods.
