Colli Trevigiani
About the wine
The Colli Trevigiani IGT covers a diverse hilly landscape in the province of Treviso, Veneto. The area is defined by its Prealpine foothills, which provide a natural barrier against cold winds, and proximity to the Venetian lagoon, creating a temperate climate with significant diurnal temperature variations. The soils, characterized by sandstone, marl, and morainic deposits, offer excellent drainage. The IGT allows for a wide range of white, red, and rosato wines, including frizzante and novello styles. The region has a deep-rooted viticultural history, notably hosting Italy's first school of viticulture and enology in Conegliano. The wines are known for their varietal expression, with whites often showing floral notes and sapidity, while reds range from light to structured, depending on the grape and site. The disciplinare permits a broad selection of international and indigenous varieties, reflecting the area's long-standing tradition of experimentation and quality production.
