Lison-Pramaggiore
About the wine
The Lison-Pramaggiore DOC, spanning the border regions of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is a versatile appellation known for its diverse range of wines, including whites, reds, and sparkling styles. The area is historically significant for its clay-rich, alluvial soils, which provide a distinct character to both international and indigenous varieties. The white wines, often based on Tocai Friulano (minimum 50% for the 'Bianco' typology), are typically crisp and elegant, while the reds, dominated by Merlot, offer structured, harmonious profiles. The DOC also highlights specialized production, such as the Refosco dal peduncolo rosso and the sweet Passito versions of Verduzzo and Refosco. With a focus on traditional viticulture and specific aging requirements for Riserva labels, Lison-Pramaggiore represents a refined expression of the northeastern Italian terroir, balancing classic varietal expression with regional identity.

Production & aging
The production area covers alluvial lands across the provinces of Venice and Treviso in Veneto, and Pordenone in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Key communes include Annone Veneto, Pramaggiore, Portogruaro, and parts of Motta di Livenza and Chions. The zone is defined by specific sedimentary-alluvial soils, excluding marshy or overly humid areas, reflecting the traditional viticultural landscape of the Livenza and Tagliamento river basins.
