Lessini Durello
About the wine
Lessini Durello is a distinctive Italian sparkling wine produced in the hilly volcanic terrain of the Lessini Mountains, straddling the provinces of Verona and Vicenza in the Veneto region. The denomination is centered on the indigenous Durella grape, a variety prized for its thick, tannic skin and naturally high acidity, which makes it exceptionally well-suited for sparkling wine production. The wine is crafted exclusively using the Martinotti (Charmat) method. Characterized by a pale straw color with greenish reflections, Lessini Durello is noted for its fine, persistent perlage and a delicate, fruity bouquet often marked by mineral, flinty, and saline notes. On the palate, it is defined by a vibrant, bracing acidity and a persistent sapidity, offering a versatile profile that ranges from dry to demi-sec. This combination of volcanic soil influence and the unique properties of the Durella grape results in a wine that is both refreshing and structurally complex, serving as an excellent aperitif or a pairing for rich, savory dishes.
