About the wine

The Gambellara DOC, established in 1970, represents a distinct viticultural area in the Veneto region, situated on the volcanic hills bordering the provinces of Vicenza and Verona. The appellation is defined by its focus on the Garganega grape, which must constitute at least 80% of the blend. The wines are celebrated for their freshness, notable minerality, and sapidity, traits derived from the unique basaltic soils and significant diurnal temperature variations of the area. The DOC encompasses several typologies, including a standard white, a 'Superiore' version, a 'Classico' designation for the most traditional hillside vineyards, and a prestigious 'Classico Vin Santo'—a passito wine made from dried grapes that requires a minimum of two years of aging. The wines are generally characterized by a straw-yellow color, delicate floral and fruity aromas, and a medium-bodied, harmonious palate. The production zone's volcanic origin and the traditional pergola training systems contribute to the consistent quality and distinct identity of these wines, which have gained international recognition for their elegance and longevity.
