Veneto
About the wine
The Veneto IGT covers the entire administrative territory of the Veneto region in northeastern Italy, encompassing the provinces of Belluno, Padova, Rovigo, Treviso, Venezia, Verona, and Vicenza. This broad denomination allows for the production of white, red, and rosato wines, including frizzante, passito, and novello styles. The region features diverse viticultural environments, ranging from the Alpine and Dolomitic mountains in the north to the pedemontana hills, the Venetian plain, and the Adriatic coast. This geographic variety, combined with the influence of Lake Garda and the Adriatic Sea, creates distinct microclimates suitable for a wide array of international and indigenous grape varieties. The IGT framework provides producers with significant flexibility in blending and varietal expression, reflecting the region's long-standing winemaking history and its evolution from traditional table wines to a diverse portfolio of quality-focused regional products.
