Conselvano
About the wine
The Conselvano IGT covers a flat, alluvial plain in the southern part of the province of Padua, Veneto. Historically shaped by the Po, Adige, and Bacchiglione rivers, the area features soils ranging from clay to sand, rich in minerals and organic matter. The climate is temperate Mediterranean, influenced by sea breezes that mitigate humidity. Viticulture in this region dates back to Roman times, with a tradition of land reclamation and specialized soil management. The IGT allows for a wide range of white, red, and rosato wines, including frizzante and novello styles. These wines are known for their balance, with reds often showing lower acidity and good structure, while whites are noted for their sapidity and freshness. The disciplinare permits both indigenous varieties like Raboso and international grapes, emphasizing the terroir's suitability for diverse viticultural expressions.
