The 'Verona' or 'Provincia di Verona' IGT covers the entire administrative territory of the Verona province in the Veneto region. This area is defined by a diverse landscape ranging from the shores of Lake Garda to the Lessini mountains and the surrounding foothills. The climate is generally mild and Mediterranean-influenced, benefiting from the protective mountain barrier to the north. The soils are varied, featuring calcareous-dolomitic, basaltic, and morainic deposits. The IGT allows for a wide range of wine styles, including white, red, and rosato, as well as frizzante and novello versions. The production is deeply rooted in local history, utilizing both indigenous varieties like Garganega and Corvina alongside international grapes. The disciplinare emphasizes the geographic link to the renowned Veronese viticultural tradition, ensuring that wines reflect the specific environmental conditions of the province while maintaining high quality standards.
